Limits and privacy
The translator uses a bounded International Morse table based on ITU-R M.1677-1. Unsupported characters and unknown groups stop conversion instead of being guessed. Playback uses browser audio and is a reference signal, not laboratory timing or a proficiency test.

FAQ
What Morse code standard does this translator use?
It uses the supported written-character mappings and timing ratios from International Morse code in ITU-R M.1677-1. It does not silently add arbitrary national alphabets or common unofficial extensions.
How should I separate Morse letters and words?
Use spaces between letter groups and a slash between words. The decoder also accepts documented whitespace separators, but it does not split a continuous unknown sequence by guessing.
Can this translator play Morse code?
Yes. After a valid conversion, choose a speed from 5 to 40 WPM and a tone from 300 to 1000 Hz, then start playback. Audio begins only after you press Play.
Does this tool decode Morse from a microphone or audio file?
No. This page translates typed text and typed Morse groups. It does not identify tones, noise, light, images, or microphone input.
Is my Morse message uploaded or stored?
No. Translation and playback run locally in the browser, and the tool does not store a Morse history. Coarse usage events exclude the entered text and result.
